Best of Fleurs avec George

Un tanar debutant – George Neagu – cu o colectie interesanta si realizata bine aprope din toate punctle de vedere. Piesele care mi-au placut cel mai mult:

    La beauté!

Very appropriate styling- the collection “lives” in the environment that it was shot- this type of photo shoot is the ideal “Look Book” (Diana said she didn’t want to shoot her collection straight on to showcase the clothing and the details because she didn’t want it to be boring, I have to email her about this shoot, because this is exactly how a Look Book should… Look! This is what I was trying to explain, that full figure shots don’t have to be boring at all. These showcase the clothing, and they also complete the story). Bravo!

The lighting is great too (not too many strange shadows, but the faces need more light- you guys really need to buy more lights, lol)- but I’m still giving you points for it because the few shots that we do see shadows in, are the double shadows of the statue- which, by the way, genius! It creates such a regal but quiet conversation and the frames where we see some of the back views, it looks like the model converses with him. Good composition.

These pics say so much, they make the viewer really think about the scene, and take historical references without overpowering the clothing or looking too theatrical. I really like the styling, did I mention? The color story between the collection and the location is very well integrated.

The models some looked more experienced and comfortable, some as usual, a little flat in their expressions but most of the time it doesn’t stand out because of the other elements work so well in the pictures.

Most of the poses looked relaxed enough; the only one I didn’t think fit was the whole “let’s hold up the long dress like a bed sheet, while we walk” It was a little too Princessy, a strong stance or even an exaggerated gesture coupled with a dead on gaze into the camera would have done much better). If you want to evoke royalty, you show it in attitude and how you carry yourself, not by imitating what you heard in fairy tales, it comes off… a little limp. In all fairness, the dress was too long for her, but she didn’t have to walk in it, she only had to pose.

That’s the only thing I had to say that wasn’t great, work on coaching the models, get them to relax, (oh, and feed them too, don’t worry. they won’t look fat, lol, there’s nothing worse than a tired, hungry and/ or self conscious model)

Other than that, I really think everything works, and the mood is great, very spring, the colors I have to say again are beautiful. Very light hearted, breezy, it gets the message across- some of your best work, guys and awesome location find.

I’m surprised more people didn’t comment on it, this is a really awesome shoot from concept to finish. You guys must’ve had so much fun.
